At The Impro Post, our reviews are written to support and celebrate improvised performance.
Our Approach
Reviews on The Impro Post may include opinion and enthusiasm, but avoid ranking, star-ratings, or negative critique.
Our reviews aim to describe the format and tone of a show, what we enjoyed, highlight what makes the show unique and provide language that companies and venues can fairly quote.
To keep our coverage consistent and constructive, we do not: Score or rate shows, publish negative or takedown reviews, negatively critique individual performers or claim any authority over what is or isn’t “good” improv.
Quotes & Promotion
We are more than happy for companies and venues to quote from our reviews for promotional use, provided the quotation is accurate and properly attributed to The Impro Post. If you are unsure whether a quotation is appropriate, feel free to get in touch.
A Living Document
As The Impro Post grows, our approach may evolve. We are always open to feedback from performers, venues, and readers. If you have questions about our review process, you’re always welcome to contact us.
Thank you!

How do I get reviewed by The Impro Post?
If you’ve got a show you’d like us to know about, please drop us a message with the details!
Unfortunately, we can’t make it to everything, but we love hearing about what’s going on and aim to cover a broad mix of improv shows and formats.
We don’t charge for reviews and we can’t guarantee coverage. If we do come along, any review will follow our How We Review approach.
